As a Production Designer, you will be responsible for designing and rendering audiovisual products, experiences, and scenic elements using Vectorworks, Adobe Suite, and other industry-standard tools. You will develop detailed production drawings, contribute to fabrication budgets, and assist in the production of new props and displays.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Design & Visualization: Create and render 2D vector-based sketches (black & white line drawings) for fabrication, ensuring designs align with creative concepts and structural requirements.
• Scenic & Structural Design: Develop technical drawings for props, structures, and audiovisual elements, considering scale, materiality, and installation methods.
• Production Coordination: Work closely with fabricators, engineers, and scenic artists to translate designs into high-quality, production-ready elements.
• Material Selection & Budgeting: Develop fabrication budgets and selecting appropriate materials, finishes, and fabrication techniques.
• Safety & Feasibility: Ensure all scenic elements meet structural integrity, safety standards, and production constraints.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate with creative directors, lighting designers, engineers, and production teams to bring designs to life while maintaining artistic and brand integrity.‍
• Technical Documentation: Maintain organized design files, production assets, and revision documentation for consistency across projects.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Production Design, Industrial Design, Scenic Design, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Proficiency in Vectorworks, Adobe Illustrator, and AutoCAD (or similar design software).
• Strong understanding of materials, fabrication methods, and large-scale scenic production.
• Ability to interpret and create detailed technical drawings for fabrication and installation.
• Experience in event production, theme park design, experiential marketing, or set design.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a passion for immersive experiences.

Preferred:

• Experience with 3D modeling software (Blender, Rhino, SketchUp).
• Knowledge of CNC routing, laser cutting, and large-format printing processes.
• Familiarity with lighting, digital displays, and interactive technology integration.
• Understanding of themed entertainment industry standards and scenic construction methods.
